Marketing plan phase3 (Coca cola) Essay Example
Marketing plan phase3 (Coca cola) Essay Marketing Plan Phase3 (Coca Cola) Price strategy Penetration Pricing This is a strategy employed by the Coca Cola Company in order to achieve a large market share for the new beverage container. The products penetrate the market and satisfy consumer needs while retailers are given more margins and incentives. Despite the high market share that the company has already achieved, the competitive environment pushes it to apply feasible measures attain and maintain potentially dominant customers. Penetration strategy through lowering prices of Coca Cola products attracts a multitude of new consumers and retains existing customers, leading to abundant sales and large market shares. Complimentary products are also promoted through this strategy because the customers will be away of their existence after being lured into purchase by the lower costs (Solomon et al, 2011). However, the penetration strategy can have a major limitation if other competitors in the market such as Pepsi, decide to lower their prices too. This lowers the value of the subsidized produ cts. Inventory control This strategy refers to the method of supervising and managing stock within a company to regulate and account for product flow. According to Wood (2005), it also ensures that the company has adequate supply of incoming goods while maintaining security for the companyââ¬â¢s assets. Coca Cola needs to pay more attention on inventory control to maintain supplies and good distribution channels that show positive feedback from the customer. Inventory control will give the company impetus on the distribution of the various coke products thus contributing to the companyââ¬â¢s continuous success. Keeping track of product records will enable the company to maintain its status.

buy custom Pandemic in America essay
buy custom Pandemic in America essay The modern society in the United States is well prepared to tackle any pandemic that may break out at the earliest stage possible. The researchers in the center for diseases control have set up strategies which would help the health department to respond quickly to the threat of an outbreak before it spreads far into the society. My supporting the motion is triggered by the recent bird flu outbreak and the speed at which the out break was contained by the health department of the United States. An outbreak of a pandemic is dangerous to both the in effected and affected individuals and has serious negative effects to the country as well. These negative effects include; deaths of the affected individuals, stigma in the social environment, and economic downturn due to the heavy financial capital that government utilizes in order to curb the situation before it spreads too far. The effects are unacceptable and that is why reinforcement towards containing the situation is put in place (Prevention). In contrast, the opposing individuals also have the right to be in their position. In December, 2005, avian flu outbreak in Cambodia and Vietnam was viewed to have had affected the government of the United States which had the required reinforcement to curb the pandemic. However, it took about two weeks before the government said anything about the situation which at the time had spread to far into the society affecting large population of those nations. This may have shown that United States may be slow to take action in the case of a pandemic yet tit has the required reinforcement to fight back the pandemic. But, the slow action does not imply that the s country is not well prepared for an occurrence of an epidemic(Steinhardt,p.98). Another reason which has facilitated me to supporting the argument is the methods of pandemic containment that are used by health practitioners in the country. In case of any pandemic outbreak, health practitioners respond quickly to the pandemic but there is a common formula that is used to curb the situation. The first step is to give medical attention to the infected individuals. The medical attention in this case includes special treatment which is done in evacuated locations whereby patients response top the medication is seriously monitored. This helps in the analyses of the seriousness of the pandemic and the gestation period of the viruses causing the influenza. The second step and the most importat is the investigation to the source of the pandemic. Here, the medical practitioners use the first patients as the main tool for the research methods. Patients are interviewed in order to get the information about the earliest symptoms of the pandemic, and also tested so as top get the main source of the pandemic whether a virus or an influenza. This helps the researchers to know the gestation period of the viruses which in turn gives the information about the rate at which the diseases can spread in the society in the society. This helps the researchers into making the reports which calls for the necessary speed to be applied in order to curb the situation before it spread to an uncontainable situation. The last step involves the research on the characteristics of the source of the pandemic. At this point, he researchers need to have found the pandemic carrier and now they have to find the habitat and the necessary environmental conditions for the survival of the same. If the virus happens to be unknown to humans, necessary matching concept is applied to the virus and the known virus which are almost similar in nature. The findings made will have stated the cause of the pandemic, the habitat of the causing organism, mode of transmission whether respiratory or contact, and the method of containment (Association). At the outset, the methods which are applied sin containment of the pandemic include creation of unsuitable environment for the organisms in the patients body as stipulated in the research findings. After the success of curing the in effected individuals, the researchers get back to the working on the vaccinations which would be used to completely eliminate the pandemic from the society. In the United States this is done by health researchers in the center for diseases control (Ali,p. 65). In the United States, the research on the vaccines to be used against an epidemic is an involving process which takes a longer time while the containment method is still underway in the fields. Scientists in the research process in most cases grow virus for the anticipated vaccine in large vats which have cultured animal cells. This takes a longtime to mature thus delaying the realization of the complete control of the epidemic. At last, vaccine is found and given to the unaffected individuals to prevent the spreading of the epidemic. The United States health practitioners are the most reliable in the world. In casee any other country in the world experiences an outbreak of an epidemic which may seem to be complicated, affected country calls for the involvement of the United States researchers. The government sends heath researchers of the center for diseases control to carry out research on the epidemic and help to find methods of controlling the same. In addition, the world health organization also uses health practitioners from the country in the effort to control diseases and epidemics in many places of the world. This proves the United States to have capability of controlling an epidemic which can affect the citizens at the earliest time possible. In case of the outbreak of an epidemic, the government still proposes the evacuation method of affected individuals from the society as a way to curb the situation. The formula was supplied in the event of the outbreak of H1N1 flu which is the most recent epidemic to have reached the United States. More also, the federal government has made emergency funding to restore staffing at health departments. This is taken to be one of the measures of preparedness of containing an occurrence of an outbreak of an epidemic. Also, special nurses have been recruited and trained in the methods which can be used to control the situation. These nurses have been distributed to local health facilities where they are mandated to take charge to rare cases of illnesses reported to the health facilities. The health department also has put measures of epidemic control into place. In case of an epidemic, quarantine is the first response put in place by the department. The method is said to be the most effective since the epidemic cannot reach too many of the unaffected individuals in the country. After the quarantine, public awareness campaigns are put in place and at this step the moving individuals in and out of the country undergoes medical test at the points of clearance in the airports. In conclusion, the United States health department is the rated as the most effective in the world today. This makes many countries to rely on the services of the United States government in the efforts to contain the epidemic. The federal government has strengthened the capabilities of the health departments by ensuring that they receive enough funding which would enable them to cater for the epidemic outbreak. I support the argument that United States is ready to control any epidemic that outbreaks in the country. Buy custom Pandemic in America essay

Global communications Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Global communications - Essay Example ntinued to evolve as the marketers come to the realisation of how to communicate efficiently through modern-day advertising methods across a range of multifaceted and progressively competitive international marketplaces. This variety of marketing involves instituting a website, and then choosing interactive types of advertising; with the strategic intent being to cater to the domestic markets clients (Fill, 2005). In defining the functions of global marketing, the inferences for worldwide interactive advertising are usually centred on an ethnocentric market. This approach could be viewed as standardised. In the hybrid strategic method of international marketing, also referred to as "glocalisationâ⬠, the strategic aim is to utilise a centralised and planned "footprint" to create an international brand identity, while permitting flexibility that is country-specific in the communication and tactical mix decisions. When deciding what the strategic propositions are as far as international interactive advertising is concerned, the aspects of global marketing no longer make use of an ethnocentric perspective. Global marketing recognises and exercises strategic intent as a way to organise the blend of centralised brand or business directives with the more localised variations in management decision making, and interactive advertising placement. Therefore, global communications definitely suggest that the existence of international online clients is a strategically anticipated result of a hybrid strategic technique (Yeshin and Gilligan, 2000). Language constraints:à In most cases, advertisements have to be interpreted. This has to be according to local version of the generic language. In some circumstances, advertisements created in foreign languages are run intentionally in order to add an air of mystery to a commodity or good. Cultural Hindrances: Subtle cultural disparities may stop an advertisement from being viewed as acceptable in one nation, or be accepted in a

Comprehensive health history and Physical Essay
Comprehensive health history and Physical - Essay Example It was around six in the evening while he was driving from work when he noticed a change in his body. There was an abrupt pain onset of the pain to his right side which occurred for a small period of time about one to two minutes. He thought that he might have strained while driving and this might have resulted in the pain. The pain slowly moved from the parasternal area towards his neck. This was the first time he experienced such pain and describes his day as a normal day at the office with no strains. He felt tired at this time as the pain continued to radiate upwards. The pain subsided a little when he got home but he felt a discomfort that was accompanied by a shortness of breath. At this time, he was not nauseated or sweating. The pain seemed to disappear immediately he arrived home and rested. Two days ago the pain returned again and this time a little severe than the first episode and lasted close to five minutes. The pain seemed to emanate from the same place as the previous episode. He experienced this twice during the day in the morning and in the evening. In both instances he was not strained but simply walking around in the office. He went home and took a rest again and the pain seemed to disappear completely until today when the pain episode manifested. All this time he was contemplating of seeking medical attention but did not. He never used any pain relievers or any other drug that could ease the pain. The reason for this he says is that the pain seemed to last for a short period of time and would disappear itself or would end immediately he went to rest. This made him think that the pain was as a result of work. The patient says that he did not experience any other symptom apart from the shortness of breath during the pain episodes. There was no dizziness or palpitations. He also says that there was no other exertional dyspnea, orthopnea or paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. Interestingly the pain did not alter during movements or during food intake . There was also no palpable pain. He has never been informed of having heart problems. He has never had a problem with his chest before and neither has he ever experienced chest pains in his life. He does not have claudication. However, Andrew was diagnosed with hypertension about 2 years ago. Andrew is not a smoker and has no symptoms of diabetes. He was only diagnosed with the hypertension 2 years ago which he is fully aware of and had a total abdominal hysterectomy and a BSO about a year ago. Andrew has not been on any hormone replacement therapy of late. He also says that their family has a history of premature CAD. He has been monitoring his cholesterol level for quite some time but at present he does not know. Assignment - Essay Example In the past, defining what equality is and should be became a contributory factor of the Revolutionary War. In the years prior to the war, the only social structure and governmental administration ideologies were those brought with them from Britain. In Britain, it was status and wealth that indicated if a citizen was qualified for equality.(Van Til 1) In other words, equality did not apply to everyone within the society only to a specific elite group. However, the American colonists were far from British life, in the colonies life was different and, often, harsh. These struggles like Indian attacks, hunger, and diseases were experienced universally by the rich and poor alike. Slowly but surely colony life and the philosophical concepts of ââ¬Å"enlightenmentâ⬠thinkers, gave people the idea that ââ¬Å"equalityâ⬠could and should not be something bestowed or earned, but something that should be a principle right.(Van Til 1) When Thomas Jefferson wrote that ââ¬Å"all men are created equal,â⬠it sparked the fires of change, particularly, among those that, generally, were not offered equality within society. Anti-salve supporters spoke out that it was absolutely hypocritical to speak of equality of all men, while owning and profiting from the slave trade.(Foner 4-5) Women were encouraged by the changing perceptions of equality to speak out and be more active. The Native Americans, would not benefit from this changing times, in fact, they would suffer greatly. Even as the colonists fought for the right to freedom and individual equality in the New World, the Native Americans would, sadly, lose all hope of equality, freedoms, and rights to ancestral lands. It is easy to see that in these turbulent and changing times that finding the definition of equality that was inclusive, concise, and agreeable to all, was no easy task. The Revolutionary War itself was, both, a revolt against the British rule, but, also, a civil war among colonists who did not s hare the same views on the impending rebellion.(Nash) Loyalists, those faithful to the British Crown and the Patriots, those colonists that sought to make America a new nation all of its own, were forced to stand against each other. Even the slaves found themselves on opposing sides of the war. The British gained their allegiance by offering to ââ¬Å"free:â⬠the slaves that would fight for them against the colonists; the colonists.. Ultimately, we know the warââ¬â¢s imminent outcome. The colonies prevailed and the United States was born independent from Britain. The new philosophies of American would see the abandonment of previous British traditions and social norms. By 1800, the practices of ââ¬Å"indentured servitudeâ⬠and ââ¬Å"apprenticeshipsâ⬠had nearly disappeared all together. The freedoms and equalities of white men increased. The aristocratic structure of society was dismissed and, for the first time, men of all levels and stations were represented in politics; by the 1780s the majority of white males were qualified to vote.(Foner 1-2) The founding fathers did not know what impact the philosophy of equality would have on the new nation. In truth, they believed in equality of ââ¬Å"conditioning,â⬠not in ââ¬Å"opportunities.â⬠Simply meaning, all men should be treated equally, allowing for basic courtesies, dignities, and respects; they were not necessarily referring

Explaining The Purpose Of The Main Financial Statements Finance Essay
Explaining The Purpose Of The Main Financial Statements Finance Essay A financial statement (or financial report) is a formal record of the financial activities of a business, person, or other entity. In British English-including United Kingdom company law-a financial statement is often referred to as an account, although the term financial statement is also used, particularly by accountants. For a business enterprise, all the relevant financial information, presented in a structured manner and in a form easy to understand, are called the financial statements. They typically include four basic financial statements: Balance sheet: also referred to as statement of financial position or condition, reports on a companys assets, liabilities, and Ownership equity at a given point in time. Income statement: also referred to as Profit and Loss statement (or a PL), reports on a companys income, expenses, and profits over a period of time. Profit Loss account provide information on the operation of the enterprise. These include sale and the various expenses incurred during the processing state. Statement of retained earnings: explains the changes in a companys retained earnings over the reporting period. Statement of cash flows: reports on a companys cash flow activities, particularly its operating, investing and financing activities. For large corporations, these statements are often complex and may include an extensive set of notes to the financial statements and management discussion and analysis. The notes typically describe each item on the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement in further detail. Notes to financial statements are considered an integral part of the financial statements. The Balance Sheet The balance sheets purpose is to show the assets of the company. Balance sheets are based on a fix point called a reporting perioda day, a month, a quarter, a year. A quick glance at a balance sheet will show you what the company owns and how much it owes. Balance sheets include assets (property, cash, anything owned of value), liabilities (debt owed) and shareholders equity. Income Statements Income statements show the revenue earned during a reporting period.Ã Included in this report are the expenses and cost of creating the revenue. Once the expenses and costs are removed from the total revenue, the bottom line of the report reveals whether or not the company lost money or made money. This report is sometimes referred to as the profit and loss statement. Another feature of the income statement is the EPS, or earnings per share. This reveals what a shareholder would receive if you were being paid dividends per each share owned. Cash Flow Statements Cash on hand is important because it supports the daily activities of a business. There must be enough cash on hand to pay expenses and buy assets as needed. Cash flow statements track the inflow and outflow of cash. They reveal whether or not cash was generated by the business. The data for a cash flow statement comes from an income statement and the balance sheet. The cash flow statement reveals net decreases or increases of cash for the reporting period. Retained Earnings Once liabilities and assets are known and a balance sheet is created, it is known whether or not the shareholders have a positive or negative equity. From the equity is taken retained earnings. Retained earnings are broken down and explained in the statement of retained earnings. This statement reveals what the company keeps and does not distribute to the owners and how that amount changes over the reporting period. Losses are called accumulated losses, retained losses or accumulated deficit. Financial Statements Once a set of financial statements are prepared they can be used for loan applications, fund-raising or to place a value on a business. But they are typically used for making business decisions that will affect operations. The numbers and calculations in the financial statements are also used to calculate ratios and make further analysis. Common figures derived are operating margins, debt-to-equity ratio, P/E, working capital and inventory turnover Purpose of financial statements by business entities The objective of financial statements is to provide information about the financial position, performance and changes in financial position of an enterprise that is useful to a wide range of users in making economic decisions. Financial statements should be understandable, relevant, reliable and comparable. Reported assets, liabilities and equity are directly related to an organizations financial position. Reported income and expenses are directly related to an organizations financial performance. Financial statements are intended to be understandable by readers who have a reasonable knowledge of business and economic activities and accounting and who are willing to study the information diligently. Financial statements may be used by users for different purposes: Owners and managers require financial statements to make important business decisions that affect its continued operations. Financial analysis is then performed on these statements to provide management with a more detailed understanding of the figures. These statements are also used as part of managements annual report to the stockholders. Employees also need these reports in making collective bargaining agreements (CBA) with the management, in the case of labor unions or for individuals in discussing their compensation, promotion and rankings. Prospective investors make use of financial statements to assess the viability of investing in a business. Financial analyses are often used by investors and are prepared by professionals (financial analysts), thus providing them with the basis for making investment decisions. Financial institutions (banks and other lending companies) use them to decide whether to grant a company with fresh working capital or extend debt securities (such as a long-term bank loan or debentures) to finance expansion and other significant expenditures. Government entities (tax authorities) need financial statements to ascertain the propriety and accuracy of taxes and other duties declared and paid by a company. Vendors who extend credit to a business require financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of the business. Media and the general public are also interested in financial statements for a variety of reasons. Financial ratio analysis groups the ratios into categories which tell us about different facets of a companys finances and operations. An overview of some of the categories of ratios is given below. * Leverage Ratios which show the extent that debt is used in a companys capital structure. * Liquidity Ratios which give a picture of a companys short term financial situation or solvency. * Operational Ratios which use turnover measures to show how efficient a company is in its operations and use of assets. * Profitability Ratios which use margin analysis and show the return on sales and capital employed. * Solvency Ratios which give a picture of a companys ability to generate cash flow and pay it financial obligations. Differences between the formats of financial statements for 3 different type of business- sole proprietorship, partnership and Limited company Government financial statements The rules for the recording, measurement and presentation of government financial statements may be different from those required for business and even for non-profit organizations. They may use either of two accounting methods: accrual accounting, or cash accounting, or a combination of the two (OCBOA). A complete set of chart of accounts is also used that is substantially different from the chart of a profit-oriented business Financial statements of non-profit organizations The financial statements of non-profit organizations that publish financial statements, such as charitable organizations and large voluntary associations, tend to be simpler than those of for-profit corporations. Often they consist of just a balance sheet and a statement of activities (listing income and expenses) similar to the Profit and Loss statement of a for-profit. Personal financial statements Personal financial statements may be required from persons applying for a personal loan or financial aid. Typically, a personal financial statement consists of a single form for reporting personally held assets and liabilities (debts), or personal sources of income and expenses, or both. The form to be filled out is determined by the organization supplying the loan or aid. Differences between Sole Proprietorship, Partnership Corporation I want to do this! Whats This? There are a number of different types of business organizations an individual or a group can form. However, three of the most common types of business organizations are sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations. These three types of businesses are similar in some ways, but a number of differences are important to note. Formation A sole proprietorship or a partnership may be formed without filing any formal paperwork. The creators of a corporation, however, must file a document known as the articles of incorporation. Liability The owner(s) of a sole proprietorship or a partnership may be held liable for any business activity and/or obligation. Corporate shareholders, however, usually are liable only for the amount they invested. Record Keeping Corporations are required to keep strict records of meetings and other similar administrative activities, while a sole proprietorship or a partnership typically is not required to do so. Size A sole proprietorship can have only a single owner, but a partnership or a corporation may have any number of owners. Taxes The owner of a sole proprietorship is required only to report the business earnings on her tax return, while a corporation or a partnership must file a separate return for the business. BASIC FINANCIAL STATEMENT FORMAT PARTNERSHIP When preparing financial statements by hand the Income Statement would usually be prepared first because the net income or loss becomes part of the Statement of Partners Capital. The Statement of Partners Capital is usually prepared second because the ending partners capital balances become part of the Balance Sheet. Corporations are subject to income taxes but sole proprietorships and partnerships are not. Otherwise the income statements of each are identical. Penguins â⬠Birds that Cannot Fly Essay -- Exploratory Essays Research
Penguins ââ¬â Birds that Cannot Fly Penguins are one of my favorite species of birds. They look like a bunch of men in tuxedos at the beach. Although they are considered birds, none of them are capable of flying. They live in climates and locations that range from the warm Equator to the freezing Antarctic. Penguins are so cool that they have become the stars of many television commercials. Of the seventeen species, it is the Emperor penguin that is the most interesting penguin. After all, how many fathers can go without food for two months, so that they can protect their off-spring twenty four hours a day? All penguins are found in the Southern Hemisphere and are flightless seabirds. While many people associate penguins with the cold Antarctic, only two species breed in the Antarctic. The two species that breed in the Antarctic are the Adelie and the Emperor penguin. In fact, penguins live in a wide variety of climates and locations. Among the locations that the other fifteen species inhabit are the Galapagos Islands and the coasts of Australia, South America, New Zealand, and South Africa. Interestingly, the Emperor penguin is the world's only bird that never spends one second of its life on dry land. Adult penguins range in height from approximately 16 to 48 inches, depending on the species. The Emperor penguin is the tallest of all species. Emperor penguins are also the heaviest, weighing up to 100 pounds. Most penguins can be recognized by their white breasts, black backs, and black heads, resembling a small man in a tuxedo. Some penguins have other distinguishing features such as orange, red, or yellow areas on their heads or necks. Penguins are gifted swimmers, using their wings as paddles. Their bodies are de... ...le find penguins interesting, beer companies and other advertisors have chosen to frequently use them in television commercials. There is even a hockey team named after them. Of all the seventeen species, however, it is the amazing nesting habits and parental dedication that makes the Emperor penguin the most interesting of all penguins.
